Multi-layered Engineered Wood Flooring is resistant to expansion and contraction due to its multi cross layered base rendering it extremely stable.

 

 
 

Multi-layered solid engineered wood flooring is produced directly from wood processing, a variation of solid wood floor boards which combine the properties of nature and industry. Using solid wood veneer as surface, solid wood engineered flooring is tongue and groove flooring constructed with multilayer of solid thin woods arranged in cross-grain pattern and compressed together as core materials. It is usually named after the wood species of surface layer. Currently, there are 2 types, 3 layers and multilayer of solid wood engineered floor boards.


Multilayer solid engineered wood flooring’s raw materials are originated entirely from tropical forest, simple and elegant. Its core materials are multilayer thin woods constructed plywood , 7 to 9 layers usually; surface layer is made of local Kembang Semangkuk (KSK) ,Merbau, Hevea and imported Walnut, White Oak wood veneers and others special customised veneer species that showcase natural beauty and elegance of wood grains. The sheets are then glued together and compressed with heat pressure to become floor boards with T&G and total thickness around 9-15mm.


The structures of multi-layered solid engineered wood floorings are built by arranging various layers of constructional veneers that are bonded face to face with the grain running in alternate directions. This method would prevent the floor board from dry shrinkage and wet expansion to certain extend, rendering it better dimension stability, not easy to deform and crack, thus better security and durability. It also has a better room temperature and humidity control ability and preserves the natural grain and comfort of solid wood flooring. It is more eco-friendly too. 



Floors that use glue and topcoat technology to generate negative ions, which can continuously generate negative ions on the floor surface.

The reason why the negative ion wood floor can release negative ions is because the surface of the floor is attached with a layer of material with positive and negative electrodes, which is the negative ion catalyst in our daily life. This oxidant can remove the formaldehyde entering the electric field. Fully decompose and reduce it into two harmless gases, oxygen and water, which can purify indoor air and create a healthy living environment for people.

IONWOOD negative Ion flooring uses the latest gluing technology to glue tourmaline powder in a multilayer composite floor. The micro current generated by the tourmaline powder captures the oxygen and water molecules in the air and converts them into negative oxygen ions, which is the so-called negative ion.

Our Glue – Zero Formaldehyde


We apply water based glue, whether does the multi-layer engineered solid wood flooring is environmentally friendly depends on what grade of glue is applied during the production process. We basically pick out high-quality glue, especially for export goods, which requires E0 standard quality.


Timber Planks


There are wide selections of timber species in engineered wood flooring. Timber being a natural product will have natural attributes e.g. knots, grains and various colours and tone. There can be big contrast of tone and colour even within a single species. In the production process, manufacturers would sort them in categories and collection. Some collections have minimum colour variation and a knot free look, while some would have contrasting tone with prominent knots. The photographs below show some of the collections available.

End users should be informed of the features and characteristic of the floor that they have selected. While attempts are made to sort to the control sample, it would be difficult to produce identical and consistent look as timber is a natural product. Engineered wood flooring can be produced with a single plank lamella or 2-3 strips lamella. Single plank generally cost more and would have lesser colour variation and tonality within the board. Functionally, single plank and 2-3 strips plank are similar.

The best wavelength for human body to absorb far-infrared is 9.6μm, while anion oxytocin radiates far-infrared wavelength in the range of 2-18μm, and the radiation power is 0.04w. /cm, which is slightly higher than 0.03w/cm of human body absorption radiation power. The above data can fully confirm that the far infrared rays radiated by negative ion oxytocin are well coordinated with the human body and can be fully absorbed by the human body.
